Nursen Ogutveren

I started my career in a cell biology lab at MIT, automating microscopy for endometriosis research. Then I spent six years as a software engineer — building data infrastructure at Microsoft and HIPAA-compliant health platforms at Google's Verily Life Sciences. Along the way, I co-founded a Women's Health Initiative, coordinated a clinical trial launch in six weeks, and learned that the hardest problem in healthcare technology isn't the technology.

It's the translation. Clinicians and researchers know exactly what needs to exist. But the gap between that knowledge and a working product is where most ideas die. I started The Conduit to close that gap — bringing engineering rigor, AI fluency, and business strategy to the people who understand the medicine.

Services

I work with organizations that have real clinical or scientific expertise and need a technical partner to bring it to life.

Healthcare Technology Strategy

End-to-end technical strategy for health ventures — from HIPAA-compliant architecture to clinical data pipelines. I scope what to build, what to buy, and what to skip.

AI Strategy & Implementation

Practical AI integration for clinical and research teams. LLM applications, retrieval-augmented generation, intelligent search, and workflow automation — built for regulated environments.

Fractional Technical Leadership

Engineering leadership for startups and organizations that aren't ready for a full-time CTO. I evaluate vendors, scope builds, run technical diligence, and keep your product on track.

Executive AI Education

Speaking and workshops for organizations that want their leaders fluent in AI. Not hype — practical frameworks for what to adopt, what to ignore, and how to work with technical teams.

Recent engagements

A sample of the work I do at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and strategy.

Go-to-Market Strategy for a Peripartum Care Startup

Led customer discovery research with BIPOC mothers, developed a comprehensive strategy brief, and built an interactive insights platform — from voice-of-customer analysis to implementation roadmap.

Yale Impact Practicum

Maternal Health Clinic Launch

Led marketing, operations, technology setup, curriculum design, and patient recruitment for a new peripartum care clinic during its inaugural summer.

Enrich Health LLC

Accelerating Your Vision with Generative AI

Keynote workshop for 50+ founders and professionals on practical AI adoption — from prompting frameworks to building working prototypes without a technical background.

Yale Black Ventures Summit 2026

Built for serious builders in healthcare and life science

I take on a small number of engagements at a time. Here's who I work best with.

Physicians and researchers commercializing clinical innovations
Funded MedTech startups needing technical leadership
Life science organizations modernizing clinical systems
Health ventures preparing for regulatory or investor milestones
Healthcare companies building AI-powered products
Organizations booking executive AI education sessions

Building something bigger than a solo practice

The Conduit is growing into a curated network of people who bring complementary skills — design, data science, regulatory expertise, clinical knowledge — and share a commitment to making healthcare technology better.

I'm not building a traditional firm. I'm building a network where great people work together on projects that matter, stay independent, and get paid fairly for their expertise.

What alignment looks like

You believe that great healthcare ideas shouldn't die because the founder can't code. That technology should serve clinical insight, not the other way around. And that doing this work with integrity matters more than doing it fast.
